It’s the first day of June, and in case you didn’t know - it’s the Global Day of Parents!

The next generation will make or break the planet. That statement sounds bad, I know; after all, our children shouldn’t have to shoulder the burden of our mistakes, as well as the mistakes of the generations that came before us.

But that’s why it’s important for us to create an environment that nurtures them well. It’s up to us to make sure the world is safe and loving and full of possibilities, so their personalities and ideas can develop in a harmonious environment.

Remember the African proverb, “it takes a village to raise a child?” It truly takes more than just parental effort to make sure a child grows into a well-rounded individual.

As someone who was once a single parent, making sure my child grew up well took everything I could muster, as well as the support of people around me. Of course, this included the people I worked with.

This is why we at Ellana focus on workplace policies and programs designed to ensure that parents are able to support their children’s mental and emotional well-being.

Team Ellana was built around the concept of family, so every decision we make takes parents and other support individuals into account. By providing ways to systematically support our employees, they can continue to grow at work while ensuring that their children can flourish under their care.
