It was Earth Day recently, and it got me thinking. 🌺🌏

Summer is in full swing, and many of us have our fans and air conditioners running 24/7 to combat the heat. Notice how each time summer rolls in, it seems much hotter than the last?

That's because our planet is actually heating up.

Sadly, we all collectively contribute to climate change, which negatively impacts the planet. And this didn’t occur overnight — it took many years of carbon emissions, deforestation, and excessive plastic waste to make global warming happen. Did you know that the Philippines is the third-largest source of plastic waste in the world? That’s so much waste for such a small country!

These things might seem unimportant right now, with COVID-19 concerns dominating our attention, but they affect us all and are just as important.

It takes conscious action to turn this around. And we need to make mindful choices while change is still possible.

At Ellana, we’re always asked about our packaging. Why glass bottles, paper magnetic palettes, and paper refill packets? Some people like them; others aren’t so pleased.

Our packaging choices are intentional: we’re committed to decreasing plastic waste, and we encourage refills where possible. Less plastic use means reduced plastic pollution and carbon emissions, which hopefully results in slowing down global warming.

Change isn’t going to happen overnight, and it will take collective mindfulness and action to make a dent in this endeavor. But the outcome is worth it: A livable, more sustainable world for all of us!
