“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for.” — Georgia O'Keeffe
Happy National Arts Month, dear!
Do you remember being a kid, using finger paints and crayons to draw how you felt? I believe that even as grown-ups, we haven’t changed much: We still want to use color, light, and shadow to express our feelings. We just do it in different ways. Some of us take photos. Some of us draw. Some of us paint. Some of us sing and dance. Me? I paint faces. As a professional MUA and cosmetics formulator, makeup is my art.
I see art and beauty as tools for empowerment. Art is in every step of the Ellana journey - from formulating for skin health to shade match perfection, all the way to the processes that bring your favorite products from lab to makeup kit. We cultivate skills, encourage creative ideation, and pursue our artistic visions in order to help others achieve skin health and self-confidence!
I believe you're capable of creating amazing things, too. We all have that spark! All we need is information, the right tools, and a little push in the right direction.
Have you gone out there and experimented with new forms of art lately? I hope so - you might just surprise yourself. I'd love to see what you've been up to, if you don't mind sharing them with me!
